Social Media: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also opened its account on ‘Koo’

Amid the ongoing tussle between the government and social media platform Twitter, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has opened its account on the domestic social media company ‘Koo’ app to connect with people in Indian languages.

Several leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party have recently opened their accounts on the Koo app, following a tussle between the government and Twitter over new IT rules, including several issues.

Koo said the number of people joining its platform continues to grow. A large number of celebrities from politics, sports and entertainment have opened their account on the social media platform.

The new well-known organization to be associated with Koo is the RSS, the company said in a statement. The union opened its account on Wednesday to connect with people on Koo. RSS has an account on Koo with the name @rss.org.

It said that the RSS with more than fifty lakh members is a major organization producing a large body of organizations with presence in various aspects of Indian society. The number of users of Koo has exceeded 65 lakhs. The Indian social networking site started by entrepreneurs Aparmay Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidavatka. RSS spokesperson Rajiv Tully has also opened an account on Koo.
