Social media Twitter took action against 167 websites in a month
In its monthly compliance report mandated under IT rules, Twitter said it has taken action against 167 websites based on 120 complaints between June 26 and July 25.
Twitter said that during this period it has also suspended 31,637 accounts while monitoring the content.
The US company has been facing delays in compliance since the new IT law came into force and processing several high-profile accounts and tweets. In the latest report, Twitter has said that it has received these complaints through its Grievance Redressal Officer. Most of these complaints were related to harassment/abuse (36), fake information and fake news (28) and hate behaviour.
