Twitter again stopped the process of giving blue tick, know why such a decision was taken
American social networking service and micro-blogging Twitter has once again halted its account verification process. The company provides blue tick to an account only after this process.
It says it needs to improve its application and review process. The company had last month admitted that it had permanently suspended some fake accounts which it had mistakenly declared as verified accounts.
The company said that we know this decision is disappointing for those who are waiting for verification or blue tick but we want to set things right and we appreciate your patience for this.
Last month, Twitter said it had mistakenly verified some fake or incorrect accounts. We have removed Blue Trick from these accounts and suspended these accounts as per our platform’s manipulation and spam policy.
Earlier in 2017, the company had stopped its verification process, which was resumed in May 2021. The company re-launched its new verification application process in May. In this, global users were given a blue trick after verification and review in six categories. Twitter gives verification in 6 categories, in which government, companies, brands, news organizations and influential people like journalists, entertainment, sports and social workers etc. are verified and given blue tick. Twitter may also give blue ticks to scientists, educationists and religious leaders in the future.
