Facebook launches new VR Office Space app, now video conferencing will be fun and interactive

Facebook Inc. has launched a new VR (Virtual Reality) Office Space app yesterday i.e. on August 19. This is a test application, which is much more interactive and fun than video conferencing happening now. It will double the fun of doing online video conferencing from home.

 Nowadays due to Corona period, most of the people are doing office work from home. In such a situation, they have to do video conferencing and meetings only through online video calling apps. However, doing so gets a bit boring. For this reason Facebook has launched this new app to make it interactive and more useful. The VR office space app Horizon Workroom has been developed to create a virtual reality office space. 

How will this Facebook app work?

Facebook is developing this new platform with the help of Oculus and is trying to give a new and standard look to remote work. According to Facebook , this new way of communication could soon become the work space of the future called ‘Metaverse’. To use the Horizon Workroom app, users need to host a meeting in their avatar version. This requires using an Oculus Quest 2 headset. The company is currently testing the beta version of this app. Facebook has entered the virtual reality segment through Oculus.

The company is also working on AR Glasses

The company is not only working on VR but also AR glasses, which were showcased at the company’s F8 conference. During a news briefing conducted through VR, the company showed how Workroom users can create their own avatar. It will be used to meet others during virtual conferencing and collaborate on shared whiteboards or documents.

You will be able to download this app for free

This new app can be downloaded for free. However, the hardware required to use it Oculus Quest 2 costs $300 (approximately Rs. 22,000). The new platform allows up to 16 people to join together in VR and up to 50 in video conferencing. Let us tell you that Facebook employees themselves hold meetings through this new app. This initiative of the company will make it easier for people to work from home.
